Mostly building
something.
Hi, I’m nukem2000. I like making things, working things out and occasionally seeing how far an idea can go.

THE PERSON BEHIND THE PROJECTSA bit about me.
Hey, I’m nukem2000. I work in IT during the day, and when I’m not fixing someone else’s tech, there’s a good chance I’m at home pulling apart, building, painting, printing or experimenting with something of my own.
D4RK Designs is where I keep track of all of it.
A big part of that is model kits—particularly Gundam. I enjoy the whole process, from a straightforward build to spending far too long painting mechanical details that will probably never be seen once the armour goes on.
This site is becoming an archive of those builds: the finished kits, the work that went into them, the mistakes along the way and the ever-growing backlog. You’ll also find kits built by Mrs Nukem, because the collection isn’t entirely mine.
Away from the workbench, I’m usually tinkering with my homelab, servers, networking, AI tools or 3D printing. Sometimes those projects are practical. Sometimes I just want to see whether I can make an idea work. Quite often, one project leads to three more.
This isn’t a polished professional portfolio or a collection of perfect how-to guides. Some projects turn out exactly as planned; others involve troubleshooting, reprinting parts or figuring out what went wrong.
That’s part of the fun, and it’s worth documenting too.
Built in my spare time.
Documented along the way.
